The Rose at His Heart

Xing Zhu was the subject of gossip and mockery for many people.

She was stunningly beautiful, radiant and exquisite, like a noble, romantic red rose. But her personality was as bland as cold water, stiff and icy.

So dull a beauty! Even her new boyfriend dumped her in a fit of anger. “Xing Zhu, being with you has been a complete waste of fifteen days of my life!”

When word got around, everyone waited to see the show. Xing Zhu merely curved her lips and asked, her meaning unclear, “Is that so?”

Yes, that was what everyone thought.

Until the return of the young, handsome, and decisive head of the Chu family. Half the heiresses in Jiangcheng fixed their eyes on him, afraid someone else would get to him first.

At a banquet, Xing Zhu's dark eyes were as still as water as she calmly watched the man surrounded by admirers in the distance. Their eyes met, and Xing Zhu looked away.

Later, that supposedly bland woman pinned the god everyone thought untouchable against a wall in the back garden, her expression alluring and tender.

“They all say I'm boring.”

“What do you think, A Jin?”

Boring?

Chu Jin thought, Thank goodness. It seems just about everyone in the world is blind.

No one knows what Xing Zhu felt that rainy night when she saw Chu Jin beneath the dim lights.

Xing Zhu thinks Chu Jin doesn't know, either.

Just as she doesn't know that Chu Jin had known her long before they met.
