The Getaway Car's Registration

The case of a murdered taxi driver remains unsolved when another corpse-burning case turns up at Sancha River. Similar methods and a series of bizarre license plate clues link the two cases. Detective Zhu Jinling discovers that the victim in the corpse-burning case has been misidentified, leading to black cab drivers Xiang Biao and Shen Xiaoxin, as well as Luo Hong, a car owner from the provincial capital.

Xiang Biao seems to be helping with the investigation, but is actually pulling the strings. Shen Xiaoxin is hiding suspicions of murder, while Luo Hong has set a trap to frame someone else. As the truth gradually comes to light, the chaos of the unlicensed cab trade and the greed of human nature are laid bare.

Before transferring to a new post, Zhu Jinling sets a trap. Evidence found in Shen Xiaoxin's old car breaks through his psychological defenses. Even after Xiang Biao causes a car crash, Zhu uses a backup dashcam to secure the evidence and protect justice at the cost of his life, bringing the real culprit to justice.
