You Sent Me to a Bankrupt Factory, and I Made a Mushroom Cloud?

[A military-industrial genius is reborn in the 1970s, and a crumbling factory blasts a mushroom cloud into the sky!]

Ye Yun, a military-industrial prodigy of the twenty-first century, opened his eyes to find himself a “problem technician” sent down to the countryside in the 1970s, assigned as deputy director of the soon-to-be-shut-down Factory 728.

Weeds towered over the factory grounds. Apart from Director Li, who was always puffing on a pipe, there were only a few workers loafing around. The higher-ups had already said the factory would be closed soon.

Just as he thought he’d have to lie flat and wait out his days, he was bound to the Strongest Military Industry System, and technical information for the PHL-03 multiple rocket launcher flooded straight into his mind!

With enemy aircraft from the Lighthouse Country wreaking havoc overhead every day, Director Li casually suggested, “Why not modify the old rocket launcher?” Ye Yun’s eyes lit up.

Short on equipment? Make do with the old lathe! Short on manpower? Do it himself!

He worked nonstop for a day and a night, modifying the tail fins, adjusting the trajectory, and making parts. Somehow, he turned an almost-scrapped Type 70 rocket launcher into a weapon of mass destruction!

On the day of the test firing, a mountain three kilometers away erupted in a mushroom cloud. The rocks were pulverized, and flames soared into the sky!

Director Li was scared stiff. He frantically grabbed the phone and shouted, “Old Zhang! My lousy factory just made a mushroom cloud!”

Commander Zhang called him a liar, but after seeing the test with his own eyes, he immediately declared, “You’ve got it! You need people, you get people! You need materials, you get materials! This treasure has to go into mass production!”

The commander-in-chief read the report late into the night, slapped the table, and exclaimed, “This young man is a pillar of our nation! Everything that happened before is forgiven!”

The technical experts at the research institutes and arms factories refused to believe it. Then they saw Ye Yun’s blueprints and their jaws dropped.

“This magnetic levitation accelerator track… Did you come here from the future?”

Ye Yun sneered. “This is only the beginning.”
