Call Me a Good Samaritan

A corporate wage slave transmigrates and couldn’t be happier, already wondering how many wives he should take. A sprawling estate and a hundred acres of farmland, with servants and maids to match. His business deals go bust, leaving him broke, and when he tries to get ahead, his wicked servant bullies him! He returns home to find not a grain of rice, and even the rats have abandoned him. With no other choice, he takes to the street to sell paintings, only to be chased by the constables. Just when everything seems lost, his miraculous power awakens: he can copy anything without limit. From then on, he soars to success, leaving poverty behind for prosperity. The prefecture officials invite him everywhere, and even outlaws admire him and call him brother. By day, he hands out porridge as a benevolent benefactor. By night, he kidnaps people and sends them off to the mines. Everyone praises him as a great philanthropist, but who’s calling me Lord Ling the Skinflint?
