Becoming the Savior Starts With Fishing

On Tianshui Star, scattered islands dot the entire globe. Together, they account for less than 6% of the planet's surface, while the deep blue ocean covers the remaining 94%. For land animals, this is hell. The depths of the ocean are filled with psychic substances that drive marine life to evolve and develop intelligence. These creatures have scales that can withstand torpedoes and most other conventional weapons, teeth and fins that can tear through steel, and swimming speeds close to the speed of sound. Terrifying sea beasts weighing tens of thousands or even millions of pounds are commonplace, and legend has it that mythical beasts exist that feed on entire islands. Their enormous size means these sea beasts must eat constantly. If they don't, they'll starve to death... Big fish eat little fish, little fish eat shrimp: that is the ocean's one unchanging rule of survival. The growth and development of human civilization requires vast quantities of resources. With so little land and even fewer resources, humanity has no choice but to turn to the ocean, gather its resources, and hunt sea beasts. The most effective way to hunt them is by fishing! A sea beast can't resist swallowing a baited hook when hunger takes over. The hook slips past its hard scales and pierces the soft flesh inside its mouth. Then, with skill and strength, the angler hauls the beast onto shore. Humans learned to extract psychic substances from the blood and flesh of the great fish. Combined with martial arts body tempering, this dramatically improves their physical abilities, giving them the strength and stamina to compete with the great fish. Anglers have become the most honored profession in human civilization, and its saviors!
