Ghost Blows Out the Lamp (The Experience of a Tomb Robber)

After Ba Chang responded, the publishing plan for the entire year of 23 was shelved. "Ghost Blowing the Lamp" is the pioneer work of Chinese novels about tomb robbing. It was first serialized in 2006 and filled the gap in online literature about tomb robbing. It has built a complete world view system including the gold school captain, Feng Shui and other secrets. ‌‌The first tomb robbing terminology (such as "You can't touch the gold when the rooster crows and the lantern is out"), there are four types of tomb robbers: Faqiu Zhonglangjiang, Mojin Xiaowei; Mountain Moving Taoist; Unloading Ridge Warriors; Guanshan Taibao; Moving mountains for elixirs, unloading mountains for wealth. Among these people, the last resort is to touch Colonel Jin. He has the skill of focusing on acupuncture points, observing the sky and knowing the dragon's veins. Taoists who move mountains have the ability to open mountains and open roads. But they seek elixirs, not wealth. Most of the Xiling warriors gathered together to make a picture for thieves and bandits. Use manpower to destroy tombs on a large scale. Once you get money, you will become a prince and influence the situation of the world. Therefore, among all the thieves in the world, the most numerous are those who move mountains, those who move mountains are the most amazing, and those who touch gold are the most amazing. The Taibao of Guanshan specializes in robbing tombs. Because it is a family-based story, it is rarely known to outsiders and has become a template for subsequent similar works. ‌‌Integrating Feng Shui, archeology, historical allusions and folklore, such as "Sixteen-Character Yin-Yang Feng Shui Secret" runs through the main line, and quotes real historical settings (such as Cao Cao's establishment of a gold-touching school captain) to enhance the sense of reality. ‌‌ Taking the life-and-death contract of "people light candles and ghosts blow out lanterns" as the core suspense, combined with the background of the red era and dialects, it creates a strong sense of immersion in the times. ‌‌Each adventure ends the suspense through logical reasoning and basically achieves self-justification. ‌‌ I used to buy the complete volume of Ghost Blowing Lantern in high school, which is divided into 8 volumes. Now this novel is Ghost Blowing Lantern 1 (corresponding to physical books 1, 2, 3, and 4), and Ghost Blowing Lantern 2 (corresponding to physical books 5, 6, 7, and 8). The opening chapter of "Ghost Blowing the Lamp" is more like the awakening of a storyteller in an old teahouse - "Listen to a wonderful legend of an ancient city." Although it is called Jingjue Ancient City, Queen Jingjue is nowhere to be seen. The story of Mr. Hu Guohua's blank paper man is just like the night talk in the Northeast courtyard, and it can send shivers down one's spine. The scene where Hu Bayi mistakenly enters the Liao Tomb is clearly the absurd experience of a young man who jumped in line, but it makes the rules of goldsmithing grow naturally like spring rain moistening the soil. It's just that the opening chapter is never perfect. The archaeological team branch line in the ancient city is like undercooked rice dumplings, which always makes people feel that it lacks some heat. Moving to "Longling Mystery Cave", the mechanism of the hanging soul ladder resonates with people's hearts, and the three people are anxious in the secret room. The decisive victory when the partridge whistle kicked away the wild cat can be called the "fatal moment" in the tomb robbing world, but the subsequent inversion in Blackwater City was like a deflated rubber ball, and it was difficult to regain energy. On the other hand, the section about the coffin shop in Shibei Shop, where Lao Yangpi's endless nonsense makes readers gasp - is this shop not the outpost of the Palace of Hell? The most amazing thing is that "Yunnan Worm Valley" Ba Chang wrote the miasma in Yunnan as a living creature. The night pupil of the eagle owl can illuminate the human heart, and the phosphorus fire of Huo's undead insect can burn through time and space. The most amazing thing is the corpse hole effect, as if all the ghosts in Yunnan are opening their mouths underground. Hu Bayi recalled the battle with wolves in Phoenix Temple. The sound of gunfire, howling wolves, and moonlight merged into a concerto of life and death, which reminded people of the thrilling battle between Che Chi and Guo in "Journey to the West." The weirdness of this scroll is very much like the fungus from Yunnan - it looks ordinary, but when you enter it, you will be shocked. "Kunlun Temple" is the Tai Chi pusher of myth and reality. The interplay of infinite karma fire and divine ice is like the embodiment of Yin and Yang Bagua. The fish king in the wind-eroded lake may have been transformed by the colorful stones that Nuwa leaked when she patched the sky. But the greatest advantage of this volume is that it incorporates the legend of the Snowy Land into Colonel Touch Jin's luggage, allowing readers to follow the team on the tightrope between myth and reality. The world-famous "Ghost Blows Out the Lantern" can be said to have led the trend of a genre of novels. Later, the third uncle from Nanpai wrote "Tomb Robbery Notes", which expanded the influence of this theme. For a time, there were an endless stream of tomb robbing novels, but there has never been a work comparable to these two classics. Unfortunately, too few people read Ghost Blows Out the Lantern now.
