Tomorrow Will Be a Sunlit Day

Chen Qingru was an ordinary person, the kind you could see anywhere. She grew up following a familiar script: study, work, get married. Even the problems she encountered in her marriage were nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes they were about conflict with her mother-in-law, sometimes about expenses, and sometimes even about what to have for dinner.

There was no melodramatic domestic violence or infidelity, only the dull ache of a knife slowly cutting into her. Life wore her down bit by bit, deepening her wounds, turning tiny cracks into unbridgeable chasms. Between work and family, freedom and security, herself and others, should she compromise or fight back?

Everyone marched toward their own fate without hesitation. In this age of freedom, Chen Qingru chose to begin anew.
