The Top Scholar of Dafeng

Jiang Mingyu, a modern-day college student, transmigrates to ancient times and becomes the newly appointed top scholar. Naive and a little slow on the uptake, he enters officialdom with the foolhardy confidence of a young calf unafraid of a tiger. Fresh out of the gate and inexperienced in the ways of the world, he is chosen, as tradition dictates, to serve as the Crown Prince's study companion. But not long after his official career begins, the emperor suddenly dies! The Crown Prince immediately ascends the throne, and Jiang Mingyu's own standing rises with his. Yet what awaits them is no pinnacle of success, but a treacherous, ever-changing struggle of palace intrigue and factional politics! To investigate the former emperor's death, the new emperor appoints Jiang Mingyu as a fifth-rank imperial censor and special envoy, entrusting him with an imperial gold mace and full authority to investigate.
