Hainan, a beautiful island, is joined by mountains and sea and boasts an exceptionally rich diversity of species. Its breathtaking scenery makes it seem like the garden out back of Nüwa's creation. Nearly 200 rare and endangered plant species grow here, and even plants that have vanished elsewhere can still be found in this tropical rainforest.

Lin Mu is a top botany student from one of China's leading universities. After a series of upheavals, he, a social recluse, voluntarily returned to his homeland to become a forest ranger. He follows desolate, rugged trails to visit every plant and listen to every animal, repeating the daily routine his father once followed and protecting the plants his father gave his life to defend. The sudden arrival of Ci Yingxue and the botanist Wen Heng gives him a deeper understanding of his plant companions. Gradually, he breaks free from his self-imposed isolation and finds peace of mind. As he joins the two of them in protecting endangered plants and rescuing stolen ones, Lin Mu rekindles his passion for botanical research. His work lays the foundation for protecting endangered plants in tropical rainforests, and he becomes an accomplished botanist.
