When Will the Wild Geese Return North?

A down-and-out wage earner with terrible luck unexpectedly transmigrates to the mid-Southern Song dynasty.

Good news: You're the Crown Prince.

Bad news: A powerful minister has set his sights on you.

Good news: You're surrounded by breathtaking beauties.

Bad news: They're spies sent by the powerful minister.

Bad news: The Crown Prince once told a spy that, once he took the throne, he would exile the powerful minister.

Bad news: The powerful minister has set his sights on you. If you do nothing but indulge in wine and women, he'll kill you in three years!

No way. You have to save yourself. Fortunately, you know this period of history. You'll fight with everything you've got to survive!

During the reign of Emperor Ningzong of the Southern Song, Genghis Khan has already risen to power in Mongolia, while the Jin dynasty in the north is gradually declining. Decades have passed since the Jingkang Incident. Most of the war faction have passed away.

The Southern Song stays in its corner of the world, enjoying a brief peace for the time being. It has no intention of marching north to reclaim the lost central plains. As the poem goes:

Wild geese fly south, crying mournfully,

Leaves fall from the trees, soundlessly.

In a daze, a few strands of sorrow

Add lines to one's face.

So many youthful dreams in this world,

Blown away by the passing years,

Leaving only an old man with white hair.
