Case Notes: The Thirteen Strange Cases

Lin Zhongtian, an outstanding police academy student, is recruited by the Thirteenth Bureau after graduation. Only after joining does he discover that the cases handled by the bureau are all bizarre and strange. The Thirteenth Bureau has four members, each with an unusual personality. Director Chen Dongming is a former detective, steady and experienced in criminal investigations. Usually serious and composed, he is actually warm-hearted beneath his cool exterior, and the brains of the entire bureau. Duan Nannan, the Ghost Woman, is a former forensic pathologist with an ability to create facial composites even more impressive than a forensic expert's. Zhong Xi, the Divine Eye, has a doctorate in every field, yet claims to be a descendant of Zhong Kui. He specializes in using scientific theories to explain strange cases rooted in folk customs. Huang Anbei works in the archives, organizing cases, handling outreach, and managing all kinds of connections.

Proud and ambitious Lin Zhongtian finds that the four oddballs of the Thirteenth Bureau do everything differently from traditional criminal investigators. As he gets to know them, he discovers that each of them has a nightmare they cannot escape...
