A Marriage with an Agenda

Everyone in the capital's elite circles knew Qu Yi, heiress of the Qu family, as a notorious playgirl. She excelled at eating, drinking, and having fun, spent money like water, and would bring eight lifetimes of bad luck to whoever married her. Unexpectedly, Qu Xin, the eldest daughter of the Qu family's main branch, ran away from her wedding, and Qu Yi took her place, marrying Jiang Chixu, the richest man in the country. Rumor had it her husband was old, ugly, and violent-tempered. All hearsay! Her husband was fit, and best of all, he paid quickly and never showed his face. After the wedding, Qu Yi became the Mrs. Jiang everyone envied. Qu Xin regretted it bitterly. When she came back, she stood before Jiang Chixu and sobbed, "President Jiang, the woman you were supposed to marry was me, not Qu Yi. She's after something from you!" "Could Qu Yi have gotten the knife in her hands if I hadn't handed it to her myself?" Qu Yi stared at him, dumbfounded, with nowhere to hide the divorce papers in her hands. Jiang Chixu's eyes were bloodshot. "Mrs. Jiang, has this knife gone dull? Are you looking for a new one?"
