Pokemon: Dark Fantasy

(Reader advisory: This book is mainly based on the characters and setting of the Pokémon Adventures special stories, with locations from the anime as a supplement, though some details have been changed.)

This year, Red has yet to set out on his journey. Team Rocket remains Kanto's most terrifying organization, Giovanni is raking in the cash, and Mewtwo is still questioning its existence.

This year, Yanagi still hasn't found a way to capture Celebi. Every attempt ends in failure against the power of time, leaving him in tears.

This year, Archie and Maxie are still just the leaders of two fan clubs, fretting over how to promote their groups.

This year, Professor Oak still hasn't created the Pokedex...

This year, none of it has happened yet, but one person has burst onto the scene!

Someone: Sorry! Don't get in the way of me becoming Champion! Or you'll regret it!
