Emperor of the Nine Provinces

[A writing exercise with plenty of flaws. Any oversights are entirely normal!!!]

Through the ages, the nine provinces have seen emperors and legends, all steeped in poetry, wine, and romance.

Half a life of freedom, amid mountains and rivers vast; sword in hand, on horseback, in a tender embrace.

The pain of love and family brings bitter tears; heroes lose heart, and the world lies barren.

I lift my face to the sky and cry out; hear my name proclaimed on the Martial Emperor Roll!

This is the biography of an ordinary man who struggles and strives until he finally achieves fame and success as a Martial Emperor.

The Martial Emperor Roll records: “Wealth, wine, and women abound; grief, worry, and troubles abound, too. Chivalrous hearts shine bright throughout the jianghu; only one man carries the torch forward!”
