The Martial Sage Who Comprehends the Dao

Eight hundred years into the Great Li Dynasty, the realm is in chaos. In this troubled age, a country boy sells himself to a gang to protect his family, all for the chance to carve out a way to survive. (A series about becoming less than human.)
