Immortal Venerable's Demise

Ji Lie is the clan chief’s son and has enjoyed far better conditions than others since childhood. Yet his cultivation speed is far slower than that of the other boys, which troubles him greatly. If his father weren’t the clan chief, he would probably have been bullied long ago. So he resolves to find a way to speed up his cultivation. Just then, a huge beam of colorful light shoots down from the east. Ji Lie notices it, only to realize that it is heading straight for him. Terrified, he tries to run, but his escape plan fails, and the light quickly surrounds him. The beam’s tremendous energy knocks him unconscious. After Ji Lie wakes up and returns home, he runs into a provocation from boys his own age. Just then, an elder of the Ji family arrives. Ji Lie assumes the elder will help him, but the elder does nothing, simply watching as Ji Lie is sent flying by a beating. It turns out the elder wants to train Ji Lie this way so that he can become a capable man as soon as possible.
