They're All Superpowered

I arrived in Edo in 2088. The explosive growth of biotechnology and information technology sent this world's technological development down a strange path:

The defining features of this era are prosthetic bodies, electronic brains, gene serums, network hackers, mecha warriors... and people with superpowers!

But after meeting all sorts of superpowered women, including [a fated girl reborn from the future], [a white-haired, young research specimen], [a down-and-out heiress from a bankrupt company], and many more, I suddenly realized...

Why are all their superpowers so weird?
