"Comrades, the Soviet Union has reached its most difficult moment. The Nazis and the Western world are trying to obliterate us. The fascists and capitalists thought that we would succumb to the war machine. They thought that we would admit defeat, surrender and lose the will to resist." "However, the great Red Army will never surrender to anyone. We will let the Nazis and the West see the power of the Soviet giant bear! The Red Empire is rising, and this time, it will rule the world." "The torrent of steel is crushing Europe!" "The Soviets will punish the world!" Excerpted from Malashenko's speech in Moscow's Red Square in 1944.
