Entirely subjective, emotional reviews, not impartial. If you disagree, you're right.
My rating system:
Top-tier: No fuss, just genuinely great. I reread these, and even if they have flaws, I tend to overlook them through rose-colored glasses (except for certain honorary top-tier picks, heh heh heh).
Solid: Dependable reads. I'm eager to find out what happens next (I'm the type who likes to let chapters pile up and then binge-read).
Passable: Somewhat interesting, good for passing the time. I skim through them.
Poisonous: Really good, but with deal-breaking flaws.
Weeds: Bland and forgettable, but hard to give up on after paying for a subscription.
Q: Why don't your reviews match my impressions? Are you reviewing books you haven't even read?
A: I can only speak on a book if I've read it myself. As for whether you think I rated it too highly or too low, there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. What's top-tier for one person can be poison to another. This list is purely subjective, emotional, and not impartial.
Q: Why do some books show low fan points? Are you freeloading?
A: I'm a paying reader. I used to read on QQ Reading, while my Qidian account was registered ages ago and never used. Books I bought on the former can be read on the latter, but don't earn fan points.
Q: Why are there so many top-tier and solid picks? Are your ratings all over the place?
A: I dropped the books I didn't enjoy a long time ago. It's just survivorship bias.
Q: Why recommend poisonous books? Are you trying to harm people?
A: It's really a matter of definitions. If a book were truly toxic, I would have dropped it long ago. The books I call poisonous are ones with quality that could earn them a solid or even top-tier rating, but that have some issue, such as a terrible update schedule. Even medicine has some poison in it, and poison can have medicinal properties too.
