Plot-Driven Reads, No Hand-Holding: 1. Sci-Fi
A mix of hard and soft sci-fi, including both civilization-building stories and tales of the protagonist's growth. These are sci-fi novels I think suit my tastes: they have fresh settings, relatively complete frameworks, and are enjoyable to read. The male and female leads shouldn't be total airheads, and they should have some brains. The plot shouldn't be so predictable that you know the ending from the opening, and a few surprises are always welcome. The prose shouldn't be a string of exam-sty
The Goofy and Pseudoscientific Little Den of Adorable Giant Beasts
Stories with reasonable plots and no stupid characters, plus goofy stories with wildly imaginative premises. Most are still updating, with a few already complete. They're all books I've read or am currently reading. Before book lists became a thing, I used to clear out my bookshelf every year, so these are mostly books I've read within the past year or so. The scores aren't actual ratings. They just show how much each book appealed to me.
