Old Sailor

The old Elder Mike, as the second officer of the "Mont" merchant ship, was not respected by the sailors, but he was willing to be a carefree and happy old drunkard, until the "Mont" encountered a disaster and sank to the bottom of the sea, and the captain and most of the crew were killed. Mike must use his rich sailor's wisdom to save those poor people. For a moment, old Mike seemed to be the heroic sailor of his youth. The whole article unfolds a subtle narrative between human nature, greed, cowardice, wisdom and courage.
