Classic Strong Female Lead, Single Female Protagonist, or No Female Protagonist Novels
Novels without brainless characters, lovestruck fools, saintly do-gooders, or womanizing protagonists, and with reasonably sound values. (I personally don't like recommending books indiscriminately, and I'm unimpressed by many so-called popular titles. Most books on this list are ones I've read myself, at least in part, and have something worthwhile in their writing or plot.)
