The New Breakup Era

They are two ordinary, unremarkable college students from rural families who made it to university. In an age when even talking about money makes people recoil, they face challenges more daunting than those of most college students: should they stay in the big city or return to the countryside? And once they decide the general direction of their future, how will they secure the basic necessities of life together? How will they handle a long-distance relationship, establish themselves and hold on to stable jobs, and ensure their parents back home can live comfortably? As they try to solve these problems, they face an even greater test: temptation, and the deepest questions within themselves. What matters more, love or bread? Is it better to love one another while poor but content, or live in wealth, each hollow inside? The two young people have their own answers. Those answers set them on their chosen paths, charging headlong toward the unknown, never to turn back.
