The False Song Dynasty

An unlucky mathematics expert accidentally transmigrates through time. While everyone else ends up in the Kaiyuan or Kangxi-Qianlong eras, he lands, of all places, among the Jurchen at the end of the Song dynasty. While others return to drive out the northern invaders and restore the Song, he somehow becomes a Bohai man and a mercenary serving the Jin dynasty. While others would forsake the world for fame and fortune, he stands bewildered at the crossroads of family, country, and people. He values love, yet cannot find it. He values loyalty, yet is branded a traitor. Though misfortune dogs the protagonist, good fortune keeps finding him: he destroys the Liao, captures Emperor Tianzuo, attacks the Northern Song, and takes the crown prince prisoner, rising step by step to the pinnacle of power. Will he lose himself between power and desire? Will he remain a foreigner's pawn, or draw his sword and pledge himself to his country? Fate has cast him onto the storm-tossed stage of history. How will he face it?
