Dragonhead Police Cases

Dragonhead Police Affairs is a long-form crime investigation novel set in Jinchuan, an industrial city in northwest China. Following young police officer Wang Chen, it begins with his graduation from police academy and his first posting at Xingfu Road Police Station. Under the guidance of veteran officers like station chief Yang Guoan, he handles everyday neighborhood disputes and investigates major cases, including a series of bra thefts and the theft of a copper water jacket. With a spare, realistic style, the author paints streets thick with the smell of rust, and, through painstaking investigations, portrays the convictions and courage of grassroots police officers. Solving cases is not the end: what matters most is the impact they leave on people's hearts. In the final volume, the story takes him to a border crossing in the far south to hunt down criminals across national borders. It closes with the words, "That door is still open," symbolizing how generations of public security officers carry on the pursuit of justice and keep watch over it.
