Folk Customs and Traditions

The Book of a Hundred Customs records the rites and taboos surrounding weddings, funerals, sacrifices, festivals, food, and ethnic traditions from across the land. Unfortunately, only the first half remains, and each entry "records only the form, not its meaning." To complete the book, he must find a local "keeper" who still knows the rites in each tradition and experience them firsthand before he can add an entry. Those in the field call the eight categories of custom weddings, funerals, sacrifices, festivals, taboos, food, ethnicity, and religion the "Eight Ways." Only after learning all eight can someone be called a "complete person."
