Reforming the Ming Dynasty

The protagonist, Shen Yanzhi, was Zhang Juzheng's final disciple. After Zhang Juzheng's death, Emperor Wanli purged his family and nearly all of his new policies were abolished. Amid the bloodshed and turmoil, Shen Yanzhi took up the banner and transformed a "one-man reform" into "a system for the whole nation": purging the powerful, curbing factional strife, reviving the economy, pacifying Liaodong, securing the coast, lifting the maritime ban, and launching the Great Voyages.
