May the Evening Breeze Carry You Across the River of Stars

Seven years ago, a hurried farewell in the height of summer and a misunderstanding hidden beneath the crushing pressure of a powerful family brutally severed the passionate young love between Xu Zhiwan and Lu Shiyan. Bearing a heart full of scars, she left, cut off her feelings, and faced the oppression of her family and the storms of the world alone, vowing never to let herself fall in love again.

Seven years later, Xu Zhiwan has become a rising independent designer. She returns to Nancheng with her studio and wins a major project for the Lu Group on the strength of her talent, only to unexpectedly reunite with someone from her past. Lu Shiyan is now the business emperor of Nancheng, a cool and taciturn man whom everyone respects and fears, yet deep in his heart he has harbored an obsession for seven years. He pushed her away cruelly back then not because he lacked feeling, but because he was powerless to defy his family's restraints. Letting her go in pain was the only way to keep her from being dragged into it.

From the moment they reunite, he quietly clears away the obstacles she faces at work, silently shields her from his family's harsh treatment, and sets aside his imposing manner to approach her one step at a time, hoping only to make up for what he owes her. But the old wounds remain, and Xu Zhiwan guards herself at every turn, afraid to entrust him with her heart again. The gentle lawyer Wen Jingran has long stayed by her side and protected her, keeping the tension between the two lovers alive in a bittersweet tale of heartbreak and sweetness.

The truth that lay buried slowly comes to light, and an old flame rekindles among the ashes. After crossing seven long years of frost and snow, he has carefully plotted their reunion and now rushes to her, giving everything he has. Only after seeing it all does he understand: among all the evening breezes and countless rivers of stars in this world, the only thing he wants for the rest of his life is to keep her safe and stay by her side, year after year.
