No Dream Ever Returns

Everyone dreams.

Ordinary people think dreams are merely illusions produced during sleep.

In reality, however, every living being's dreams leave traces in a place called the Dream Sea.

Brief dreams fade once you wake.

But dreams intense and lasting enough, believed in by countless people, can gradually form real worlds.

Mountains and rivers, dynasties, civilizations, and life can all emerge within these worlds.

More terrifying still:

Life born in dreams can dream, too.

Thus, countless worlds become nested within one another, forming a vast universe of dreams.

No one knows whether what we call reality is truly the outermost world.
