Journey to the West: The Intercepting Sect's Junior Brother

The good news: Jiang Chuan transmigrated to the Primordial World and found himself on Golden Turtle Island, the Jiejiao ancestral home, where he even encountered a lingering remnant of the Heavenly Sage Tongtian.

The bad news: just as Jiang Chuan was about to become a disciple of Jiejiao, the sage's remnant told him the Investiture of the Gods was over, and Jiejiao had long since existed in name only.

What bad news? This was the best news imaginable!

With the threat of the Investiture of the Gods gone, he didn't need to worry about ending up on the Investiture of the Gods list.

Most of the gods and buddhas throughout the heavens came from Jiejiao.

If he became a disciple now, wouldn't he have the perfect start from the start?

"Very well. From today onward, you are Jiejiao's fifth direct disciple. I hope you can restore Jiejiao to greatness."

And just after he successfully became a disciple, the Jiejiao Revival Record opened.

He could earn rewards by increasing Jiejiao's fortune or completing missions in the record.

From that day on, the Three Realms had a junior Jiejiao brother with Tongtian as his backing.

Little White Dragon: "Master, the East Sea aquatic clans are yours to command from now on. But can I opt out of being your mount?"

Sun Wukong: "Big Brother, can I borrow your Sea-Calming Divine Needle? I'll steal some peaches for you."

Yang Jian: "I've left Chan Jiao. From today on, I'm following Uncle-Master Jiang Chuan!"

Years later, Jiang Chuan attained the Dao of the Primordial Unity and restored Jiejiao to glory. He gazed toward the Zixiao Palace.

"Patriarch Hongjun, can you give me a reasonable explanation for the Investiture of the Gods back then?"
