I Was Supposed to Seal Away the Old Ones, So Why Am I the One Being Sealed?

Simon transmigrates to London at the end of the Industrial Revolution, only to discover that this London isn't quite the one he expected.

Monsters and monster hunters dance together, while the supernatural walks hand in hand with the mysterious.

The miracles of industry bring the pollution of knowledge, and the beings beyond the Black Gate covet the whole world.

Fortunately, Simon has the ability to absorb spiritual essence.

The spiritual essence leaking from other people or objects can be absorbed and made his own, boosting his attributes.

[Constitution 1: You're currently at an ordinary person's level, with nothing remarkable about you]

[Inspiration 1: You can see certain beings, but they still lie in wait]

[Reason 1: You can resist some of their influence, but you cannot save yourself]

[Constitution Max: Your body has reached perfection and can bear the return of divinity]

[Inspiration Max: Your inspiration has reached the source of divinity, allowing you to touch any being on any timeline]

[Reason Max: Your mind cannot be shaken. Even the divine cannot drive you mad]

Ascend the throne of the mortal world and guard the boundary between reason and mystery.

Simon Welsh, the last and only mystery.

From inevitable death to eternal immortality.
