At Eighteen, We Somehow Missed Each Other

This is a regret born purely from youth and the times, with no melodramatic betrayal or tangled love and hate. Two teenagers who complement and redeem each other meet in the awkward bloom of their second year of high school. They keep each other company, help one another grow, and become better together, only to be torn apart by rumors, misunderstandings, the pressure of their final year, and circumstances beyond their control. Neither of them wronged the other. We were simply too young and powerless to fight rumors and distance. In the end, all we could do was gaze at each other across a sea of people, part with dignity, and become the most unforgettable, unresolved regret of each other's youth.
