Cultivation Fulfills My Dream of Ascension

“I was born to cultivate immortality.” You say my lousy spiritual root means I can’t cultivate? Bullshit. I’ve been squatting by the town gate watching the immortal masters for ages, drooling over them. I even dream about flying at night. “I borrowed it. I signed.” I didn’t read a single word of the contract before slapping my thumbprint down. “Twenty spirit stones got me an old, yellowed book. I squatted in a field for two hours and reached the first level of Qi Refining. Hehehe, hehehe.” “Seeking the Dao Academy? Free? Meals and lodging included? They even provide cultivation techniques?” How can there be a deal this good? “What? I have to put myself up as collateral? What do you mean, I’m not free? I don’t understand. I don’t understand.” “Cultivate immortality now, pay them back later, and make my dream of ascension come true.” “Hehehe, hehehe.”
