The World Would Not Allow It

[Urban Mythology | Suspenseful Ensemble Cast | Limited Foresight | Passionate Growth] In the pouring rain, Cen Jianheng first saw a rescuer fall into the flood, then noticed the ladder about to slide away. He reached out and changed those few seconds. After the rescue, he thought life could return to normal. Then the survivors from that same incident began dreaming of an unfamiliar street. According to the records, it had been demolished twenty-seven years ago. Following the street number from their dreams, he stumbled upon a secret known to only a few: The homeland of the gods was collapsing, and humanity had been quietly written into their escape plan. The success of an experiment, the diversion of a disaster, a rescue boat arriving just in time... Behind every stroke of inexplicable good fortune lie conditions, and a price to pay. Some accept divine blessings and seek a way for both worlds to survive. Some create new faiths, hoping to sever the gods from their own home. Others prepare to destroy someone else’s divine realm, to win their homeland a chance to live. Cen Jianheng can see only a fragment of the future. But the people he and his companions must save are on both sides. Those bound by the contract, and the families waiting for them to come home. If the gods want to stay in the human world, they should at least knock first.
