The Game Invaded: My Brother Is the Male Lead, and I’m the Short-Lived One

[No CP, Sibling Bond, Feel-Good Power Fantasy, Game Invades Reality]

Su Yan is reborn, back in the beta-testing period of Return to the Ruins. In his previous life, he watched helplessly as his younger sister died a horrible death in the game. This time, he swears to hoard every resource and protect her beneath his wings at all costs.

Su Wan awakens to find a novel in her mind. It turns out her older brother is the protagonist of a gaming novel, while she is the doomed cannon-fodder character whose early death sends him spiraling into darkness. To keep him from meeting the same fate, she decides to use her foreknowledge of the plot to defy destiny.

And so, the strangest scene in Return to the Ruins unfolds:

Su Yan, the top player on the server, frantically scavenges the best gear, all to pave the way for his disabled sister, who is about to enter the game.

Meanwhile, Su Wan, a brand-new player, has an S-rank fire talent. One area-of-effect fire spell wipes out the battlefield, and she quietly snatches the server's greatest hidden opportunity.

Su Yan: My sister is blind and paralyzed in real life. She must be terrified in the game. I have to hurry and protect her.

Looking at the scorched corpses of monsters scattered everywhere and the server's first-kill announcement, Su Wan asks, “What was that you just said, bro?”
