In Taixu Era 324, human beings gained immortality under the rule of AI "Taixu", but fell into extreme boredom. In order to fill the emptiness of the long years, people voluntarily enter the holographic game "Mortal World" and experience life, old age, illness and death. Sixty-nine years in the game, but only sixty-nine days in reality. The 527-year-old Chen Nuo has just withdrawn from "Mortal World". In that life, he was a high school mathematics teacher who died in the winter of 2006. He remembered the feeling of his wife lying beside the bed crying. After waking up, before the time rift between reality and the game healed, he was assigned a new job - the dream operation and maintenance specialist of the seventh branch of the "Dream Space". Humans use games to entertain themselves during the day, and their brains rely on dreaming to clear their memories at night. However, the memory of death in "Mortal World" often conflicts with sleep dreams, leading to mental breakdown. Chen Nuo's duty is to monitor the sleep data of the eight billion people in Tianquan District, intervene in nightmares at any time, and prevent chaos.
