The Desolate Tribe: I Burn the Heavens with the Sacred Flame

Three hundred years after the Desolate Clan was wiped out, the last young man awakens from the Ashen Wastes. His name is Huang Jin. He is seventeen, the final young lord of the Desolate Clan, and the seventh inheritor of the forbidden kindling. Once lit, the kindling burns away his lifespan: one day of life buys him the power to cross a level for the time it takes an incense stick to burn. Every day he lives costs him more of his life, but he must survive to uncover the truth behind the alliance of all the races that destroyed his clan. His name hangs at the very bottom of the Blood Ranking of Ten Thousand Races. The Wolf Clan, the Sacred Clan, the Nether Clan, and the hunters of prodigies all count killing members of the Desolate Clan as a mark of glory. He uses the Heaven-Burning Art to steal their fortune and strike back. The more enemies he kills, the less time he has left; the less time he has, the more fiercely he burns. The old firmament from three hundred years ago was governed by a sacrificial law that used all the races as fuel. The "Desolate" in the Desolate Clan means the soil of the void, while the kindling is the only flame capable of burning the rules themselves. He burns his body, his soul, his life, his fortune, the laws, the Dao, and the heavens. Along the way, he burns away his name, his shadow, his memories, and even his three-year-old self, all so that one day he can set the entire firmament ablaze. His father burned behind the door for seventeen years. His younger brother held the door shut for him for fourteen. His mother used the fire of her life to mend the lamp. But he refuses to become the seventh wick. Along the way, he loses his left arm and right leg, burns away his entire lifespan, and presses ten thousand souls into his heart. The races call him a madman; the firmament sees him as a calamity. He has only one thing to say: Then let it burn. One day, the kindling will set the heavens ablaze. The Desolate Clan will no longer be a forbidden name, but the dusk of all the races.
