The Tiger Hides in the Mountains

Twelve-year-old Xiaoshu is a troubled boy. Ashan is an old tiger, raised in captivity since birth, stripped of his wildness and marked by old injuries. Ashan is to be returned to the primeval forest, where he gradually rediscovers his wildness as the king of the mountains. Through his time with Ashan, Xiaoshu learns to put away his own prickles, control his emotions, and accept and forgive himself. A tiger and a boy learn to survive in the forest, until at last each finds his place. From then on, the forest lives in their hearts, a tiger hides within, and neither fears what others say nor the storms ahead. This is a journey through the wilderness in which a boy and a beast save each other, heal old wounds, grow, and help one another become whole.
