The Immortal Corpse Undertaker

Three thousand years ago, the war between immortals ended, and the immortals fell to earth, becoming a wasteland. The immortal corpses buried on the Immortal Burial Plain still exude traces of their power, the world's only cultivation resource. Sects fight tooth and nail over a single immortal skeleton, and dynasties set up checkpoints to levy taxes. Only the work of corpse collectors is avoided by everyone as a most ill-omened trade. Chen Yan, sixteen, runs the old family funeral shop, Lian An Hall, all by himself. His father died on a corpse-collection job two years ago, leaving him a funeral art: when he lays an immortal's remains to rest, he can inherit one of the immortal's techniques and a fragment of their memories. But there's a price. The more he inherits, the more those dead men's memories try to seize his body. One day, he takes a job in the western part of the city. On the ribs of an immortal skeleton, he feels a fresh handprint. How could an immortal who died three thousand years ago leave a fresh handprint?
