I Witness Calamities in the Sect

Lu Mo spent three years as a menial disciple at Qingyun Sect. He practiced for three years and was still only at the first level of Qi Refining. He could see black energy above people's heads. When it grew darkest, that person was about to die. He learned that when his mother died when he was six. Telling anyone was useless, and only got him beaten. That was, until he saw the black energy above Elder Su of the Alchemy Hall. He didn't pretend he hadn't seen it. Alone, he scouted the back mountain, dug up medicinal herbs, and altered the direction of a landslide, pulling Elder Su back from the brink of death. Elder Su took him into the Alchemy Hall. Lu Mo thought that would be enough. But once inside, he learned the truth: someone was poisoning the herbs, someone was watching him from the shadows, and someone wanted him dead. And he couldn't even perform a proper set of punches and kicks. A man mocked for three years as a "waste with five blocked roots" began training his fists. His five spiritual roots had been blocked for three years. He would smash them open, one punch at a time. An iron staff in hand, a White Tiger at his side, and the year-end tournament just ahead. "People fear those who can change a death fate. They want to use those who can see one. Which kind do you think you are?"
