The Lost Path of the Imperial Guards

As a boy, Shen Yanci entered the Northern Pacification Office under Lu Zhan Yuan, learning skills that could carry him between the imperial court and the martial world. He once believed that wielding a blade meant upholding balance, and holding power meant deciding right from wrong. But after witnessing the power to decide a person's fate without even drawing a sword, he gradually lost his way, intoxicated by the life-and-death authority power brought him, crossing countless lines from which there was no return. When the storm overturned everything and his mistakes were beyond undoing, the principles he had once believed in shattered. He cast aside his empty titles and position, took up the blade that had gathered dust, and retraced the road he had once gone astray on, one step at a time. Atonement cannot erase the scars. But even when the long night seems endless, he must still turn back with blade in hand and find, with his own hands, the heart he lost.
