Record of Ksitigarbha's Lingering Remnants

In times of chaos, the dead have no graves, and the departed have no names. Shen Du awakens in a mass grave with no memories, no past, and no idea whether he is even still alive. Yet all the departed kneel before him and call him: “Ksitigarbha.” He doesn’t believe them. As far as he knows, he is simply a man named Shen Du. In search of his true identity, Shen Du embarks on a journey from place to place. He meets an old man who has guarded nameless bones for decades, a little ghost waiting for his mother to return, and wandering spirits burdened by their sins and unable to enter the cycle of reincarnation. He also meets ordinary people forgotten by history. He discovers that ghosts and monsters are not evil by nature. Behind every lingering obsession lies an unfinished life. A battered scripture travels with him. Each time he guides a departed soul to peace, another name appears in its pages. And those names are slowly revealing the truth of three hundred years ago: Why did Ksitigarbha disappear? Why has no one in the world remembered that he ever existed? And is Shen Du the reincarnation of Ksitigarbha, or the last remnant of humanity that Ksitigarbha cast aside?
