The One That Escaped from the Primordial Beginning

The Beginning: The One That Escaped The Great Dao numbers fifty, while Heaven's evolution yields forty-nine. One has escaped. The ancient element “Color” split into eighteen parts and descended into the mortal world: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, Electricity, Qi, Ice, Light, Darkness, Yin, Yang, Healing, Scarlet, Mystic, Illusion, and Blood. The bright side of Color gave birth to Niansheng, while its dark side gave birth to Wangshi. Niansheng doesn't know where he came from or what lies within him. All he knows is that he's an ordinary cultivator, with only Han Chuan by his side, squatting at the foot of a wall and chewing on a flatbread. Then one day, a spark lands on the back of his hand... Fire erupts in Qingshi Town. Han Chuan squats on the ground, clutching dry earth in his palm. Two earth spirit beasts enter his body, one named Atu and the other Xiaorun. He has no idea why spirit beasts would choose him, given that the Earth element ranks second from last in usefulness. Niansheng doesn't know what Color is, what the One That Escaped is, or why he can reach into fire with his bare hands. All he knows is that the order-keeper in gray robes, with a blade on his back, said more than one thing had come running out of the woods. And he can smell Color on Niansheng.
