The False Lord of Destiny

Everyone says Xiao Bin is the chosen heir of the Xiao family, destined to stir up a storm and born to be a villain. Only Xiao Bin knows the so-called Mandate of Heaven is nothing but an endless, bizarre prison. Paper effigies bearing his exact likeness keep appearing around the manor. His family grows more distorted by the day, and an unspeakable secret lies beneath the shrine’s eternal lamp. A slip of paper lays down the iron rules for survival: do not meet their eyes, do not flee, do not disobey. He watches with his own eyes as “himself” is shattered by Taiyi, and only then realizes that even his identity is a fabricated illusion. When his deformed father calls him to offer incense at the shrine, Xiao Bin chooses to tear up the rules and fight his way out. The slip of paper warns him there is no escape, but all he wants is to grasp a fleeting moment of reality. This is no epic fantasy about the Mandate of Heaven. It is a never-ending tale of strange rules, set inside an old mansion.
