Returning to the Court After a Thousand Years: I Keep the Princess to Change the Nation's Fate

Su Wan, an ordinary modern woman living alone, receives her first transmigration visitor late one night in the eighth year of Hongwu: Xu Miaoyun, a talented princess of the Ming dynasty. Waking up to find an ancient woman sharing her bed, Su Wan is stunned by the collision between past and present, then activates the Eternal Dynasty Lifespan Extension System. Its rules are simple yet astonishing: princesses from dynasties throughout history randomly transmigrate to visit Su Wan's home, with each staying for exactly seven days. Su Wan accompanies each one throughout her stay, introducing her to modern technology and tangible examples of civilization, analyzing the key flaws that led to her dynasty's downfall, and teaching her a reform plan tailored to her era. If the visitor remembers the methods and puts them into practice after returning to her dynasty, she can completely rewrite its fate and avert its fall. In return, Su Wan can unlock generous rewards in wealth, knowledge, physical fitness, skills, and more. The book has ninety chapters, each telling the self-contained story of a princess from a different dynasty staying for seven days. The plots are independent and tightly paced. Famous princesses from the Qin and Han through the Ming and Qing dynasties visit in turn, representing both troubled eras and unified golden ages. Rather than deliver dry history lessons, Su Wan uses tangible examples such as phones, the internet, electricity, infrastructure, modern laws, and agricultural machinery to vividly demonstrate how far the future has advanced. She pinpoints each dynasty's fatal flaws: the Qin's tyranny and centralized rule, the Han's political disorder caused by empress dowagers' families and eunuchs, the Tang's separatist military governors, the Song's preference for scholars over soldiers, the Ming's rigid bureaucracy, the Qing's isolationism, and other ills that have plagued the ages. To address each era's weaknesses, Su Wan devises tailored reforms, including establishing and improving a cabinet system, reforming the Jinyiwei's oversight structure, balancing control over military power, modernizing the imperial examination system, opening up trade, and revising tax laws and regulations. When each princess's seven-day stay ends, she returns to her dynasty right on schedule and presents these forward-looking ideas for governing to her emperor...
