Eternal Medicine, Since 1942

Grandfather, a master of traditional Chinese medicine, father, director of cardiac surgery, mother, pharmacy director, and son, an emergency doctor—a family of four in the Xu family were struck back to 1942 by a lightning strike. Henan. Great famine. Starving people everywhere. The Japanese are coming soon. Fortunately, they brought the entire Beijing clinic and courtyard - the pharmacy, operating room, laboratory department, and even the frozen dumplings in the refrigerator. But space has rules: you can only take it out but not save it, use less. Grandpa said: I hope people in the world are free from disease, so why worry about putting medicine on the shelf to produce dust. Dad said: Survive first, then talk about anything else. Mom said: Food should be used sparingly and money should be spent wisely. The son said: Get out of the way, I'll come - I have been working in the emergency department for six years, what scene have I not seen before? On the way to escape from the famine, others gnawed tree bark, and they were given white-flour steamed buns; while others were dying of cholera, they were given penicillin; while others were chased by the Japanese, they dared to open a field hospital under the eyes of the Japanese. From Jiaxian to Nanyang, from battlefield clinic to rear hospital. A scalpel and a box of penicillin can heal the injury and save the country. This is the story of a family of three generations of doctors who used their medical skills to light up a lamp in the darkest of times.
