Xuanyi

In the troubled times of the Northern Qi Dynasty, the unjust cases of the living were attributed to the government, and the changes of the dead were attributed to the Xuanyi genus. Pei Yan is a judge of the Xuanyi genus. He would pick up the sword to kill anything that ordinary swords could not kill. His right arm was as cold as porcelain, strong enough to suffocate evil spirits; but at every critical moment of life and death, that force would spread along the seams of his bones toward his heart. The imperial court asked him to seal his workshop and burn his body, and the people saw him as if they were seeing a disaster star. But he always wants to find out before the knife falls: who is the perpetrator, and who is just a person who did not survive? From deserted villages to high gates, from rivers and lakes to courts, strange cases follow one after another. Pei Yan gradually discovered that some spirits were hidden in the coffins, while some people were sitting in the hall.
