Hold It Right There, Ghost Brother: A Poor Ghost Catcher's True Tales

[Mild horror + ghost hunting + urban legends + mystery + infinite-loop adventure + comedy]

It all takes place in a world where ghosts roam wild. Because her brother was fooling around, Hei Bai was dumped in the mortal realm. For a poor ghost like her, that was just unfair.

But her brother was nothing if not a prankster.

She has to complete a full 1,000 ghost-hunting jobs before she can return to the Shrine of a Hundred Ghosts, the underworld.

While out hunting ghosts, she somehow stumbled (crossed out) came across an app called Ghost Law. Then, through another series of inexplicable events, she joined the Soul-Hunting Police Bureau.

And eventually became one of the best in the business.

(What a clichéd power fantasy.)

Here’s the Soul-Hunting Police Bureau’s promotional ad:

(The Ghost Constable is here, and the Soul-Hunting Police Bureau is on the rise! The Ghost Constable is here! Now we have a just and honest official!)

I’m Hei Bai, a ghost constable! I’m here for just three things!

Making money, making money, and, uh, making money!

Look, my brother and I have a ghost accomplice, a golden finger, and plenty of summons! Can’t we make money without having to grovel?

The wind rises, the clouds sweep across the sky. Where can I find a ghost constable to roam the four corners of the land?

(Hey, are you the people in this photo?)

Yes. Back then, we were still skinny, and not ghost constables.

(That means it’s not you!)

You’re saying this isn’t us?

(No!)

I’m saying this, uh, is us!
