First Sequence: Extra Stories

The First Sequence: Extra Stories is a sci-fi novel set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, more than two hundred years after a nuclear war. Ren Xiaosu starts out as a refugee living beyond the fortress walls. By absorbing positive energy, he gradually rises from the bottom and eventually becomes the Guardian of the Northwest. At its heart is the belief that “the human spirit is the first line of defense against danger,” along with the conviction that runs throughout the book: “Don’t let the sorrow of the age become your sorrow.”
