This is a parallel cultivation world shaped by mortal dynasties, immortal sects, powerful clans, and unaffiliated cultivators. Spiritual energy is unevenly distributed throughout the land, and a handful of factions have long monopolized spirit veins, caves, alchemical ingredients, mineral deposits, and cultivation techniques. Mortal dynasties control the population, taxes on grain, roads, military formations, and some low-grade spirit veins, yet are generally constrained by sects and powerful clans. Sects possess high-level cultivators and inherited traditions, but depend on dynasties for people, resources, and order. The Great Jing Dynasty has existed for a long time. Its territory appears vast, yet within its borders the imperial clan, nobility, local great families, and cultivation sects are locked in a complex web of power struggles. The border commanderies are poor in spiritual energy, but lie near ancient battlefields, abandoned spirit mines, and the frontier of foreign races. They are both impoverished lands and the place where Yu Chuanjie can obtain his first resources and establish a foothold. As the story progresses, the world will gradually expand to include the spirit realm, star seas, foreign domains, and the myriad heavens. These realms are not simply waiting for the protagonist to conquer them; each has its own intricate interests, cultivation traditions, and native powerhouses.
